Finished this one off and am glad to see it's a$$ waddling down the road. I stopped doing progress shots though I was doing some odds and ends to progress it to the finish. Here are the last few things I worked on.

The rear firing MG15 was completed by adding a PE reticle and bead, thought eh latter is in the wrong place. As I discovered later, it should have been further up the barrel but I decided to leave it as is.

The gun installed int he model. Also seen here are the handles added to the sliding canopy. These were made using 0.2mm lead wire.

The nav lights were non-existent on the kit so I made my own. First, I hollowed out the wing tips then drilled a hole. The lights were made using stretched clear sprue, one end of which was held near the flame to create a mushroom shape. The back of the "lens" was then painted the appropriate colour, cut then glued into the hole.

The SC50 bombs were painted and installed. These bombs are a sandy grey colour with yellow stripes on the cone.

I leave you with a few walk around shots. I don't recommend this kit at the retail price as it's a reboxed Italeri kit with many inaccuracies and clumsy details. It's the only one you will get in 1/48 though so if you chose to get one, hopefully this thread will give you some insight into what to expect and the corrections needed. IT's not my best work but thanks anyway for following along and for your patience.

It might have been a pig's ear of a kit Andy, but you made a silk purse out of it - well done.
BTW, what did you use to attach the lead-wire handles to the canopy ?

I think it really turned out nice Andy, defiantly not "back of the display shelf" I really need to pull some kits off the "Unfinished Shelf" and finish them. I'm far past running out of room on that shelf.

Thanks very much Glenn. It's the paint finish that, if you look close, is not really that good.

Not at all Terry. Such a small amount of CA was used that, whether coated or not, it would not likely have fogged. The handles were attached to a painted frame anyway.
