I know GB 65 is a jets build but I don't think I can finish this in time and am starting early so.... And away we go.

IPMS Houston's Modelmainia start May 3ed so I though I'd give it a go..

Lots of work not much time.

Stating with the Lone Star cockpit. Have to sand down and conform the bottom and side. Roto tool and a sanding drum.

The worlds first Mach 2+ four engined bomber the B-58 held (still does hold some) records for speed altitude payload at speed etc...

So next I have to cutout the access panels for the Bomb/Nav and the DSO. Using a roto tool and a cutting bit I first used to vinyl tape to mark out the panel lines and the rough cut the panels out then files and sanding to clean it all up.

Me too. It is such a pretty airframe.
I have only a few soft spots for jets but this is one.

Using so low tack to hold thing in place and getting a test fit for side panels and front panels. I thought originally the cockpit used the kit but I found the Lone Star resin includes the cockpit and nose gear well. There's a bit of warpage going on so I'll needs to heat up some water to straighten it out.

Just working the aft (DSO cockpit side panels and front for both.

So far I'm really enjoying this build. Wish I could have run it through the GB upcoming but didn't think (and I'm still not sure) I would have the time to complete.

This will fix the one glaring error that Monogram did when they created the kit. Oh I'm sure there are other thing but in my mind not ding a complete cockpit set was a big issue. I'm hoping for a great build but I know my skill level.. Let's push it on out.
