Many thanks to everyone here who has been kind enough to give me some pointers,I am learning so much it's awesome.:)
I have 2 new best friends and their names are 'Clear-coat and Micro-Sol'..
My word, decal application is so much simpler now and no annoying silvering!
One question for u experts though, this model is very shiny.I clear-coated before and after applying decals and once it was dry I applied a layer of Matt Varnish.End result is still very shiny.
Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong?
Cheers,
Tony.

I used Humbrol 'Matt Varnish'.
I don't mind the finish that much especially as my models are placed in a glass display cabinet for show.It will be a problem when I want to do a diorama though.
Cheers,
Tony.
