After a minor setback with the Tenzan, it now has a tail skid rather then a tail wheel, at least until if or when the wheel comes back from orbit, I decided to set it aside (again) for a bit. So I decided to have a go at finishing off one of my in progress P-47's, and here it is

Beauty. I always thought the P-47 was the larger of the single engine fighters. One reason I like modelling in a constant scale

Actually it is, that last pic is a bit misleading as the George looks a bit bigger relatively then it is, and is in fact smaller then the P-47

The Academy P-47 is a nice kit, it builds up really well with pretty much no issues & afaik, it has no egregious accuracy issues. Its short fall is in the air intake splitter under the engine which is unconvincing. The Tamiya P-47 is the best in this respect & the Revell one was not bad too until the flash monster ate it. That said, this is a great effort, some beaut wear/weathering & a fine group to put it with.
Steve.
