1/72 AZ models Saiman 200 - Croatian markings.

I've been eyeing this one for a while and while I have the Airspeed Envoy on the go, I'll make this Saiman 200 as well the wonderful thing about this aircraft is that it has some crazy markings...which are real! reference photo posted below.

I'm currently trying to figure out the interior for this aircraft, the references Ive checked are few and far between, suggestions from a almost Pale Green, Grey or a color resembling Zinc Chromate. I've currently only checked one reference and two site locations (both STORMO website color guides). I'm undecided on which to go with and would certainly appreciate some experts help on these

I was building through the week a bit and this weekend for Halloween I went to my wonderful partners over this weekend and got some building in with her.

The week went something like this:
Oct 29 - Tamiya XF-71 IJN cockpit Green applied to both sides of the fuselage, this is treated as the base coat to which I'll apply a lighter coat.
Oct. 30- Tamiya Flat Aluminium applied to the seats and interior center section, using the references provided by Wurger we can see there is a darker paint applied to the fuselage and a silvery center section and seats. It is awesome to actually have this drawing as nothing else appears online about this aircraft.

Front and Rear sections.

Oct. 31 -The seats and the interior in a zip lock bag (to prevent any parts getting lost again to the carpet monster)
Applied a second coat of flat aluminium on the seats etc. And this is a pic after they dried will need to retake at assembly.

Applied Tamiya XF-21 Sky dry brushed onto the fuselage, this color better reflects the color that appears to be provided on Italian aircraft cockpits and will serve as the most visible color, while I chose the darker IJN cockpit green in specific sections to act as the weathering. Croatian aircraft saw a lot of action and I thought it would be nice to give this kit a little flair.

A bit of an update
I decided to attach some levers (scratchbuild from rod and a dab of super glue on the end to mimik the reference photos) as was the references three in total one on the right fuselage (knob was done in Tamiya flat white) and two on the left (Tamiya flat yellow and medium blue). making the levers:

final on both sides

Next the cockpit tub colored in Tamiya Flat Aluminum and Tamiya Flat Black for the handle tips. I replicated both handles according to the references.

Next the instrument panels were painted in Tamiya Sky and Tamiya flat black with the Dials picked out in Flat White. I would have loved to do it even more detailed but the pieces are small and im very happy how it turned out.

Am planning to zip everything together tomorrow

Small update, sanded the two fuselage halves and found I did a good job glueing the halves together almost no seem after applying Tamiya Flat Aluminium to check, which means next to no putty will be needed yay (although the wings will certainly need putty).
I drilled out the exhausts but not really feeling the positioning that the kit indicated so I might redo them later this week.

There's one part where it needs some work I cut the three little sections and will reattach them after sanding and testing with Tamiya Flat Aluminium.

That's it for today a bit more sanding and fixing the top of the aircraft fuselages and will check back soon.

I have been very fortunate this weekend, no putty needed for the underside fuselage fix, just a couple hours of careful sanding. An added bonus was getting the bottom wings (two parts) and tailplane on (3 parts).I went for a different style of getting them aligned perfectly this time.
I took the time to measure each section (with a ruler, measuring common points on the aircraft that are a certain distance away from each other) and make sure it aligned properly. I can always fix gaps with putty but it is a nightmare noticing that alignment is off and having to redo it.

The progress so far:
Top (redid the two panel lines up top near the cockpit and engine compartment)

The tail section is perfect , although I had a tough time getting a good photo, I'll take some pics later this week as these don't do it justice

Thata it for now, will fill in some of the exhaust holes and redo them, along with milliput this week.
