Beauty. So many interesting schemes.

Andy, you did a lovely model of "9k+YH" about 10 years ago. It has a very similar paint scheme to this one with the mid-war greys oversprayed with squiggles in a late-war color. Would you care to post a few pics of it here or include the link to your thread? In case anyone should like to depict this type of scheme on an Me 262, it might be interesting for them to see a few examples. This type of scheme is not well-known. Just a thought!

How nice Jon and thanks for that. yes, it was over 10 years ago. It was the first welle pattern I tried with the airbrush and it was a bit heavy. I've since learned to thin my paints a lot more and would love to try another some day. David Brown helped me with the colours. Here are couple of pics:

Actual "White Y":

Hi everybody,

Most of the decals have been applied. I was a bit anxious about the lightning bolts but they came out nicely! The lightning bolts are from a Cutting Edge Decal sheet and are originally intended for an Me 262 b-1a two- seat trainer coded, "B3+SH." The yellow "A" and black "L"s are from a sheet of Peddinghaus decals. Originally, these were white. I painted them yellow and black, respectively, with Vallejo Model Air paint. I'm pleased with the results! This was the first time I had ever painted decals.

In the future I will finish applying the decals and spray a matt coat. I don't know when I'll be able to complete it 100% because...I'm joining the Air Force! My ship-out date is June 2nd, and I'm super excited. Funny enough, I'll be going in as an Airman First Class, which is the same rank I have on this forum. Wish me luck!

Regards,
Jon

Thanks everybody for the kind words. Here's a final pic of the model with the Wnr. I choose 170098, though this is just a wild guess!

Tomorrow I leave home. The ship out date came sooner than expected, but that's fine. I definitely feel ready for this. I'll get back into building models as soon as my living situation allows for it. You guys are the best.

Regards,
Jon
