I don't know how many times that I've seen this F4U-5N and thinking it being '18', now I see it being '13'....or my mind is playing a trick on me!
Either way, she's a '13'!

Looks like I've got to get Hobby Boss' late 1/48 F4U-4....even if it's flawed!

Flawed...??? If you mean the fabric skin of th outer wings it seems to be OK for the F4U-4. The metal one was introduced with the F4U-5.and used for later ones. The problem is that the texture of the fabric covering seems to be a little bit exaggerated.

That I know my friend....a few bits and bobs when reading the review on the F4U-4....there's no throttle quadrant in the cockpit just to mention one thing.
....they seem to have taken the lazy way out, regarding the outer wings on the F4U-5, bl**dy shame!
