Dehavilland Mosquito IV, DZ413, of No. 105 Squadron, due to attack naval store depot in Rennes, it collided with another Mosquito and crashed in the area.

Edit: Mission Rennes. To attack a naval stores depot. Collided with DZ 365 and crashed in target area.
All aircraft took off at at 1645 hours. Seven aircraft successfully bombed target from heights varying from 50 to 800 feet. Clouds of smoke and debris seen in target area, which was severly damaged. One aircraft unable to bomb on first run up, circled and bombed from 800'. Smoke seen from distance of 20 miles, visibility being very good. One aircraft abondoned task over target, owing to leading aircraft's bombs exploding just as aircraft was in run up to target. W/Cdr. Longfield led the formation, and owing to a navigational error, turned sharply, causing a collision with the second aircraft, piloted by F/O. Kimmel. The W/Cdr's aircraft was seen to crash out of control, and F/O. Kimmel's aircraft was seen to bee losing height with a glycol leak, apparently under control."

Edit: His Mosquito IX ML913 GB-E had taken off 23.39 hrs (5 July) from Bourn for an operation against Scholven-Buer; Mosquito lost without a trace

10Jun1943 The aircraft disappeared while on a test flight over the North Sea. The aircraft was brand new at the time and had only flown four hours when it was lost. The crew consisted of Sgt F.W. Shirley, Sgt W.J. Douglas, Sgt W.A. Robinson, Sgt J.J. Wemyss, Sgt P. Fox, Sgt D.M. Gray, Sgt P.J. Cook, F/Sgt A.P. Price and Sgt J.H. Bambridge (RCAF). All the crew were lost with the aircraft. F/Sgt Price was an Instrument Mechanic.
