The attached photo shows a three squadron line up for mission departure. One squadron on the runway and squadrons positioned each side. Aircraft departure was at 30 second intervals once the roll began. My thought at the time "here we go". The B-17 passing the control tower is from the 359th squadron.

IIRC the intersection of the runways, just visible in front of the lead B-17 in the line-up, is where the current Joint Analysis Center is located on RAF Molesworth...that is, until it closes in the near future.
