I must say that it looks a bit weird, that big center piece right in front of the pilot, can't leave the poor fella much of a view....🤨🤔

Actually it wasn't too much limiting the forward view because it wasn't too wide. With the wing mounted so low and the quite long engine compartment a pilot had to look aside under the wing for landing regardless.

the pic source: the net.

There's a photo of the aircraft standing on its nose in "The Hampden Files". The caption says "AE116 of 50 Squadron crashlanded in the Waddington dispersal field having run out of fuel when attempting to land in the fog. The aircraft was repaired.".
AE116 SO/CV TB/489 9.6.44 SOC

CV TB stands for, Converted to Torpedo Bomber

Probably the small letter was applied AFTER the repair? A second chance so to say?
Compare with Romanian Royal Air Force practice during WWII, to give the same plane number with additional small letter, to "substitute" airplanes (the second, third etc. with the same in-squadron number):

Cheers!

Neato. What does the decal sheet look like Bernie? I just used one of their after-market decals and the decals were printed on continuous decal film and the colours were off. I was only able to use the white codes but that is all I really needed, lots of roundels in the spares box
