a new book on the Uhu is coming out shortly - actually quite large. Funny the title the ultimate LW night fighter....NOT.

From what combat reports I've seen, the 219 was frequently incorrectly identified. Dad's logbook for 5/6-December-1944 is as follows:

2E1E2550-FB4C-47B0-B3AA-8B7F08844696.jpeg

and according to Boiten (2022 edition), the likely culprit was the 219:

The ORB records Dad's bombs were dropped on GEE and and the Bomber Command Night Raid reports records the marshalling yards, the target, was heavily hit. The horrible weather probably was a factor in the poor success of the Nachtjagd.

Why not if i may ask? Is it a kind of kind of p-61 kind off thing?

still did not have the bugs out of the craft. II./NJG 1 had a few Uhu's as well as NJGr 10. I./NJG 3 tested the Owl and did not like it. crew of 2 no rear armament. many Uhu's did not have re-warning radar until later types. Originally too many cannon reduced to four like in the Ju 88G's. The ejection system was a saviour when it worked.
