Los Angeles writer Louise Steinman chronicles the acts of heroism undertaken in her family's Polish town of Radomsko. At their own peril, one Polish family hid five fugitives in their home for nearly three years. Often, such heroism remains unacknowledged because during the decades of communist rule in Poland, it was forbidden to speak about many aspects of Poland’s World War II history.
