Worked on the floatplane a little, this evening. Finished covering the left
wing, covered the hole in the bottom of the fuselage and gave the floats
a good coat of clear dope. Added the last rib to the right wing and will
cover it tomorrow. Also, I think I will give the floats a "float test".

 Well done CC. But if this is a hanging model, why all the waterproofing? To allow for painting? Couldn't you just prime it all?

Beautiful work btw.

Hi Guys:

Had some outside work to do, so spent little time on the plane. I did get the
top of the right wing covered, and the fuselage is sitting on the floats.
I still have one more spar for the N struts on the floats, but that will come
after this stuff is dry.

Matt: Waterproofed the floats 'cause you know I gotta take a pic with
this floatplane on the water, courtesy of a neighbors above ground pool.

Oh..... what am I going to do with this RED propeller ?? Black ? Silver ?
Opinions please.....

Pic's attached...

Got to work on the floatplane a little, today. Got the third brace on the
floats, closed up the holes over the cockpit and attached the tail assembly.
The wings are finished, but I noticed they warped quite a bit when I sprayed
the silkspan to shrink it. They are now pinned to a board and have been
sprayed again.

Hey guys, what do I do with this red prop ?? Black or silver ? .... c'mon,
you guys, help me out......

Wayne: We're going to go with "Cub Yellow" for the color, with a little
black trim. Hope to get the wings and wing struts on today. No....
no spinner..

Charles this is a beautiful model.=D>
If it will be a yellow with black trim I think the prop should be black with yellow tips.

Ok guys.... worked like a Turk, today, and you can see the results. I'm
still up in the air about the wire cross braces for the pontoons. The plan
shows cross braces of thread. I have .039 wire which I can use, but I
just donno about the cross braces. Next step is to paint it Cub Yellow
with a little black trim. As far as the prop, I have one vote for silver and
one for black.

Hi all.... You knew I had to do this.... didn't you ? BTW, the last compartment
of the left float shipped a little water. Need to do some more waterproofing.

Matt: You've got a point. Think I'll make a trip to my favorite hobby shop
and see if I can come up with a better prop. Thanks....

Charles

Started painting the floatplane, last night. This "Cub Yellow" is very thin,
and I think it will take several coats. I've decided to do all the struts
(wing float) in silver, with the engine area in black. I'm going to find a
better looking propeller, probably a wooden one (that doesn't need painting).
