Good thing about Canada, no matter who wins the next federal election presumably in 2025, support for Ukraine will not falter. Unlike our Southern cousins, there is no influential isolationist streak among us.

I do wish we would reach our 3% defense spending commitment. The Navy is in rough shape, necessarily operating where we share a border with Russia, and where in any conflict we would have to once again protect the convoy routes to Europe. As for the air force, we probably won't see our first F-35 Squadron in operation until the 2030s.

If only we'd finish the job against totalitarian, expansionist Russia in the 1920s. It's taking us a hundred years plus to get to this point.

In the 1920s, Russia was done. It was RSFSR and then the Soviet Union.
I know it's hard to see the difference now but 100 years ago, Bolsheviks wanted to eliminate the "old Russia" completely - before marching to the world revolution.
