Oh, but remember that China stated on several occasions that they would be neutral?

Lyin' bastards.

They are certainly playing their own hand in their support of Russia, in a sense using Russia in the same way NATO is using Ukraine, to dull the blade. We too are "neutral".

In one sense, this is a proxy war between democracies and dictatorships. Zelenskiyy has made this point as well, and I think he's right. We should keep this in mind as we look for ways to not only supply Ukraine, but also to apply soft power too. Blinken's recent visit there, and warnings given, are steps in the right direction. Greg Boeser Greg Boeser made this point the other day and I think it's pretty apt.

Thirty months ago the most powerful political and military "blocks" were the USA and Russia with China a fast closing third. The EU was way down the list and Iran was in the footnotes.

After what happened to the US allies in the middle east, the Kurds and Syria for example, the EU no longer trusts the US. The foot dragging and restrictions with the US aid to Ukraine has made the EU lose faith in the US.

The most powerful political and military "blocks" are now becoming the EU and China with the US and Russia vying for fourth and with Iran trying to overtake both of them and become third.

Chinas proxy in the war, Russia, is still obeying orders but the US's proxies in the war, the EU, are starting to say enough is enough and lets give Ukraine what it needs and to **** with too little too late from the USA.
