I don't think Ukraine will get the latest weapons, simply because western nations won't want the technology to get in the hands of Russia and it's allies. Even the best ordinance will likely suffer a small number of weapons not operating correctly, and if you're using enough of them the chances are the opposition will get something they can reverse engineer.
 
Ukraine has received modern weapon systems from Western nations.

If Poland, the U.S. or Britain were to get into a shooting war with Russia, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't worry too much about Russia capturing their latest tech. Ukraine is getting older stocks because they are available in abundance.
