I suppose I may be pointing out the obvious, but the A-10 was designed to fight in an environment that currently exists in Ukraine and ironically, against many of the weapons that are currently being used...
The USAF fact sheet I posted above, also addresses the new threat upgrades that the current A-10C has, which covers today's modern battlefield.
If you want speed, get an F-15, if you want to scour the earth of anything that walks or crawls, get an A-10.

Errr...no. Some were sold to Canada. Most were planned to be sold to the Private company mentioned in that article but the deal fell through Some are being put on display (see below) and the rest will probably end up being scrapped. A bunch of spares have already been sold off to other Hornet operators too.

Isn't that the same battlefield that both sides are actively operating the SU-25, Russia's attempt at the A-10? If the Frogfoot can operate and survive, why not the Thunderbolt?

Is there any NATO-origin subsonic fixed-wing strike aircraft equal to the Frogfoot in the CAS role? Maybe the Italian AMX, but I don't believe it has the Frogfoot's protection.
