i am wondering in the drone footage, what all the black circles on the aircrafts wings are ?
they look raised almost like tyres placed there ????
thanks for that. They probably are tyres. Russia was putting them on aircraft in an attempt to protect the aircraft from drone attacks. Seems it hasn't been a successful tactic.
Here's a link with a clear pic of a Tu-95 with plenty of tyres on the wings: Russia Covering Aircraft With Tires Is About Confusing Image-Matching Missile Seekers U.S. Military Confirms
It's also going to put a lot more stress and strain on the existing in-service fleet. Which means more downtime for maintenance and other issues.
These are old airframes - the Tu-95 and Tu-22 both ended production in 1993.
The Tu-160 is still in production, but it's a dribble. I think they're averaging one new aircraft every 18 months and two to four airframe modernisations per year.
"How did I unleash the Second World War"? or did my translation software screw up again?
Hi young fella
Can you please translate your tag line (Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz. Chrząszczyżewoszyce, powiat Łękołody) because Microsoft, Giggle, ImTranslator and Yandex are unable to.
However, I can pronounce both the name and the place of birth correctly - perhaps, with a slight accent. The Polish words contain a lot of the Polish consonants what makes then very, very difficult to pronounce and write by Germans ( and not only them).
