I hope you are right but Putin always, so far, has managed to fund most of his military wants.

I still think Europe should make it very clear that if they use that Putin, the Kremlin and FSB can expect extinction. No other nations invading, just total demolition of the Kremlin and all major FSB building so that the Russian people can make some better choices than they can when the Putin and the FSB rules the roost.

Not likely to happen unfortunately.

As a cruise missile, and rather large one, it will be detected by most current missile defences.
And only stupid very optimistic (intoxicated? drunk?) person can promise the invincibility of today's weapons to future systems.

I seem to remember that he said his hypersonic missile was also invincible but Ukraine has shot many of those down. My concern was mainly with the nuclear issues of this new airborne target he and his "experts" have created.

I agree with Belarus on the lack of Lithuanian action against the recipients as a part of the problem but I agree more with the Lithuanians that a lot of these balloons are probably launched, not to deliver cigarettes, but to disrupt Lithuanian airports and other civil activities.

The discussions I heard on a podcast (not by choice - the passenger in front of me was playing it loud enough for me to hear whether I wanted to or not) said the system was well advanced before being shut down over 20 years ago but is again under active development. The U.S. tested nuclear powered cruise missiles in the early 60's (project Pluto) and found that conventional powered missiles were faster and harder to detect as well as being too expensive, so the project was cancelled.

And how are we supposed to do that? We do have some minor nuclear powers in the UK and France, but nothing compared to the arsenal that the USA and Russia have. Or our laughable military force that has been neglected over the last 30 years when we thought the USA will solve anything? And the USA will not support us at all in this I think. Putin only has to call the guy in the White House and he will swing to his side.
Threats from Europe are as laughable as the Nuclear threats uttered by Putin.
