Meanwhile, in Bulgaria:

They are moving to take control of Russia's Lukoil refinery and assets (including about 200 service stations).

Bulgaria moves to seize Lukoil refinery to shield it from US sanctions

Which are being sold to provide Putin with 20 billion USD for his war. See post 42,999.

Just don't attack us before we've had our double double from Timmies and you'll be fine

I'm more concerned about Canada plotting to swoop across the border to protect the Canadian-speaking population from the oppressive Alaskan regime.

(If I repeat that paragraph two more times, I can blame this post on AI, too...)

Great news. Thank you.
Ok, so now it appears that Bulgaria may modify their legislation and assume control of Lukoil assets within Bulgaria proper.

This proposal will be a state run effort to keep fuel and lubricants accessible, especially with the onset of winter.

We'll have to see what transpires in the next few days.

I notice that Lavrov has been side-lined by Putin for failing to arrange a meeting with Trump to discuss a possible ceasefire. part from the obvious, will he join the 'skydiving for beginners course'.

More seriously, It might imply that Putin is starting to feel as if he needs a ceasefire as this is possibly the best situation militarily, he is likely to get. With his recent actions Putin does seem to be feeling the pain, both politically and economically.
