I have read this letter a couple of times and whilst I am confident a team of people were involved in its drafting, I am equally confident that Zelenskyy was heavily involved and of course would have finally agreed to the wording.

The actual letter from Zelenskyy is in this article from Mick Ryan and is well worth reading. I have to wonder if this is Zelenskyy. Giving Putin a last chance to back down before all hell is unleashed.

The words are not those of a politician, the points are almost like a list of points. There are no flowery words or phrases, they are little more than a statement of fact, a brief explanation and a 'you already know this to be true' comment, before moving on to the next statement.
There are few points that can be denied but also whilst firm, the words are not aggressive or blunt, just factual, and they are asking, not demanding things from Putin. Which makes me feel that the senior army officers didn't take point in the drafting of the letter.
Zelenskyy isn't by training a politician or an army officer, I feel as if the words are ones that he would have used.
I just wish there was a way of getting this letter to everyone in Russia.

Also a backhoe across the road. In the mine, one of our pickups caught fire right after fueling up. Mine rescue couldn't put the fire out so they called for a 994 loader which dumped a full bucket load on the pickup; 28 cubic yards of material. End of fire.......and pickup

More likely the administration fears that Germany will be able to defend itself from the administrations friend to the north.
I wonder how Raytheon stock holders, sub-contractors and employees like this announcement. And how they will view the possible future announcement that the Tomahawks are to be replaced with Flamingos built in Germany.

What's interesting about this article, is that it's only on a few news sites that arr quoting this article as well as a few YouTube accounts (who are also quoting Politico).
As for the "Russian Retaliation", that catch phrase seems to have been worn out, much like Russia's warnings of escalation and nukes.
Besides, the U.S. already has long range weapons stationed in Europe already, including nuclear weapons...
