This is the another completion in my "Battle of Britain" movie builds, the ICM 1/48 Spitfire IXc, modified into Spitfire Mk IXc, MK297 that was the aircraft marked as AI*A, flown by Squadron leader 'Skipper' {Robert Shaw} in the 'taka taka taka' scene. It was built at Castle Bromwich in late 1943. MK297 had also appeared in the film 'The longest day', and the series 'A piece of cake'. It made its way eventually to Hamilton, Ontario, only to be destroyed in the same hangar fire as G-AWLW (Diemert Hurricane).
Painted with Tamiya acrylics, weathered with pastels, and oils. Decals are a mix of FunDekals, Fantasy Printshop, and XtraDecal.

Nice, very very nice. One I've an ambition to do in 1/72 eventually. Do you mind if I ask what colours you used, especially for the underside, they look very right. :thumbright:

I used Tamiya acrylics. For the RAF Green - Dark Green XF-82, for the flat earth 2 parts Khaki XF-49 and 1 part Flat Earth XF-52.
The RAF sky blue is 1 part Light Blue XF-23 and 1 part flat white XF-02.
