I am scanning my copy and looking for several pages so I can complete it before posting - please see my post at Manuals People are looking for

Well here it is. OCR'd

Being from a poor photocopy it is not perfect and not complete but I have to say that, to me, it is better than the RAF Museum reprint as it has some of the pages missing in the RAF print, it has the correct contents list rather than a reworded retype, the pages are in the right order (the first figure in Section 7 of the RAF reprint is from section 11) and it has the genuine Section 2 rather than a cut and paste of the totally separate AP 1565E-PN being inserted. It still needs the cover, Amendment certificates and a couple of other pages. If someone can supply the missing pages (even low quality) I can either fix them or recreate them.

IF this was one of the manuals that had a Title page a copy of that would be better than the cover as covers tend to get dirty and damaged.

Edit - naturally as soon as I posted it I found a page out of order.
Replaced file.

Thank you for sharing.
Nice Publication

And another Spitfire maintenance pub - a rare one I expect. AP 1565J & L-T.S.N. - the Travelling Service Notes for the Spitfire F, HF and LF Mks 9 and LF Mk 16 (and yes it uses Arabic numerals for the Mk numbers) from March 1950. Produced from a really crappy ancient photocopy. Ironically the title of the manual comes from Part 2 which is "to be issued later."

Hey,
does anybody happen to have insights regarding the Publication (AP) 1565CC & DD, P.N. Spitfire 22, 24 & 47?

I have never heard of any AP with double letter (CC or similar) numbering.

As far as I am aware later Spitfires were all in the AP2280 and AP 2816 series.

Great work, Thanks!
Just to note that there is a major mistake in this original Merlin Spitfire information. In Chapter 1, para 4, ENGINES, at the end it states the Bendix Stromberg 9T/40/1, this is incorrect. It should be the 8D/44/1.
The 9T/40/1 was a RR modification of a Bendix-Stromberg PT 13 type, triple-choke injection carburettor and was used on the RR Griffon 69.
The 8D/44/1 was a RR modification of a Bendix-Stromberg PD 18 type, double-choke injection carburettor used on the RR Merlin 66, 266 and many other late Merlins, in Merlin Spits..

Hope this is of interest

Eng
