Doesn't anyone find it strange that "one of Russia's biggest lakes" lies on the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan?
The Aral Sea was destroyed during the Soviet era due to the use of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers for irrigating cotton fields.
