Thanks Wiz.
I've seen them before.
Very talented group of performers.
Noticed one of the songs listed in that link you posted was "How high the moon".
I've got a very nice version of that on the Tommy Flanagan album "Confirmation".
Check it out. That whole album is really great...and its all outtakes! (!!!).
Wanted to post it, but then ran across this one.
Features the bass player from the album I just mentioned, George Mraz and the drummer is the late, great Bobby Durham. Probably one of the most unsung drum heroes in all of Jazz.
I used to watch Bobby, every weekend, backing Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown on Oscar's TV show back in the 80's.
Guy was one hell of a talent.
Try this one by the Original 12 Girls Band. They had more personality and liveliness than the newest version. Zhan Li Jun on the two stringed Erhu
plays the solo. There are other versions of the song by them.
What happened to the forum?
Has there been an update?
All I see is "Metro" across the banner.
....maybe its my computer. Service has been a slow tonight.
...anyway...
Re: Skylark - Here's a more contemporary version. She also sings with a group called "Lake Street Dive". Very good, all of them.
