Too bad Uncle Ned isn't here. He flew "Turkeys" off "the jeeps" doing convoy escort and H/K Group work for nearly two years. Four different ships and detachments from two different squadrons. If you could get him to talk, he could tell you a lot. Only happened twice in all the years I knew him. Unfortunately, he "flew west" fourteen years ago. Good luck! After advice on good books or other sources covering specification of Avengers used in WW2 in the Atlantic on CVEs.

Paul, check out thread: "Headwind Over the Deck for Carrier Takeoffs", post #40 for what little I know.Hi Wes
That would have been something special! Sadly there are few left to talk to hence having to rely on books.

After advice on good books or other sources covering specification of Avengers used in WW2 in the Atlantic on CVEs. Main interest is the permutations and combinations of depth charges, sono-buoys, MAD, Radar and rockets all for ASW. Thanks.
