A few years ago I had the pleasure of assisting a French author and accomplished Artist, Alex Jayaram, in the writing of a book about a WWII B-17 crew from Ely, Minnesota. He had never been to Minnesota and had many questions. He also had questions about the military which I could assist with. On nearing completion of the book he created the attached painting and dedicated it to me and my colleagues from the 303rd Bomb Group. Note the B-17 carries the markings of the 303rd even down to my 360th squadron (PU). Alex had a genuine interest in WWII.
