What are your thoughts about this guy from a military standpoint? Many other service men were wounded trying to free him and that should weigh against him during his sentencing. Plus the former POTUS freed 5 Taliban terrorist for him.

And now he is all hurt because no one would tell him he was being court martialed. He said, "We may as well go back to kangaroo courts and lynch mobs."

Whatever, you jackass. Enjoy pounding rocks in Leavenworth.

Not to sound too much like a bleeding heart, I think you have to look at intent.

Was it his intent to help the Taliban for financial gain or because he agreed with the Taliban's politics/beliefs?

Or was it his intent to get out of a combat area before he could get hurt?
Yes he left his fellow soldiers in the lurch and caused causalities but that was not his intent.

Going free with a bad discharge might be too lenient even if you count time in captivity as time served, But I would think that the charge of treason requires a bit more active participation than he showed if reports so far are correct.

Agreed and thank you Joe.

Let's get back to discussing aircraft and WW2. You guys kniw there is a no politics policy here...SMDH
