It is clear that the radial Mustangs on the first page are not practical - the engines are way too small (narrow). It would have to be something like a Deerhound or one of the smaller radials to get into that space.

Why a Corstang, the prop didn't change size, which was the reason for the gull wing!
Folding wings? The gear couldn't take the pounding! Then you would need the gull wing for carrier gear legs, methinks.
A round engine? A Furious Mustang? Looks sacrilegious to me.
The one with the two gun backpack is just weird.

I happen to have a 1:32 scale FW-190A sitting besides my laptop and can't help but highlight the similarities to that radial P-51
Did the USAAF had the need for an 'Americanized' FW-190 when it had the potent P-47 in its inventory?
