By the way, IMHO, it was - and is - so scary to fly with these planes! No armour, no speed, no radio, no ejection system option, almost not much fuel, only one person that has to fly, navigate, observe, bombard, and if needed, repair the machine in the middle of air!!!

much respect for those who dare to fly with these planes!

Not to mention no wheel brakes, no parachutes (Most not all), no self sealing fuel tanks, and on Rotary powered A/C the exhaust exiting without a manifold right onto very flammable doped fabric and wooden structures! I have always marveled at the feats those men achieved!
