This is a Boeing 247 airliner impressed into military service durring WW II. The 247 was the first really modern airliner but was overshadowed by the Douglas DC series which came along right after it.By wartime they were getting a little long in the tooth. Kit is by Williams to 1/72 scale.

The story of 'impressed' aircraft of WWII is fascinating and all but unknow. How about UC-103 Grumman Gulfhawk, UC-89 Hamilton H-47 Metalplane or UC-102 Rearwin Sportster? Hundreds of aircraft, from 2 seaters to civilian DC-3s were taken over. I think I'll have to start a thread on the subject.
