Canopy painting

Hi, what techniques do you all use for painting canopies? As a teen I used to score the frames lines with an xacto knife, and flow the paint on the frames. This isn't working as well with acrylics. Interested in what others do.

The easiest way is to use a masking tape for that. Either you may buy a set of such masks or make them yourself using a masking tape ( eg .. Tamiya one ) and scissors. Instaed of the scissors you can use a scalpel or a razor blade.
