Jan, you ever see the specs on the '70 LS6 454?
It was an absolute beast off the showroom floor and it was literally nicknamed "hemi killer".
It was also one of the few cars that sales staff were forbidden to allow a prospective customer to test drive.
I believe the fastest sedan built, was the mid-60's 427 Cobra jet equipped Ford's.
But there were some serious contenders all across the board, including a few made by AMC.
