Copyright questions

Were about to develop a commercially sold game about WW1 and WW2 airbattles.

What Id like to know is whether its allowed to use any planes in the game with their appropriate names and model numbers?

Also where can one get historic pictures showing planes, airbattles, tanks, newspaper headline pictures and other related stuff from WW1 and WW2 with the rights for use in a commercially sold game?

good luck - copyright issues are a minefield these days!

You can get photos from the National Archive that are typically royalty free. You would have to check with them first though.

Okay, I mostly work by the rule, for Private Use at least, that if they don't like Computer Manipulated or Have a Copyright Sticker on them they are generally Copyright free. I wouldn't suggest for a minute though that you do that for a computer game that you are planning to commercially sell.
