Friday was such a spectacular fall day and the fall colours were in their prime. After running a few errands in the morning, I went for a walk in the park near my house and then decided to pack a quick lunch of bread, Camembert, and wine to head to the mountains for the rest of the afternoon. Enjoy!
The fishermen were taking advantage of the weather as well and obviously found a sweet spot.
The Bow River has Brown and Rainbow Trout Geo. This summer has been very warm and the water temp was higher than normal. As a result, the fishermen were asked to not catch and release until the waters cooled down as the fish were already quite stressed due to the temperatures. Obviously the restriction was cleared when I took this pic.
Just for interest, I'll post another couple of pics. This summer will be remembered here for its record number of days of smoke due to the high number of fires in BC and nearby. The pics below are of a picturesque grain elevator that I drive by weekly on my way down to Nanton. I've stopped a couple of times to take pics and the last time was to record the unbelievably bad air quality. Here's a before and after, the first pic taken at the end of May and the second just 2 weeks ago.
