Here are my 1/48 scale models of the Curtiss P-36, P-40C and P-40E.

An earlier member of the Curtiss fighter family. The Lindberg 1/48 scale Hawk in Nationalist Chinese color. I repainted an old kit that was in USN yellowing but showing its age. .

Any of those have .30 calibre machine guns? I'm asking for a friend.
The P-36 had a variety of armaments including one .50 if mounted in the nose. The P-40C had .50s in the nose and .30 in the wings. The P-40E had six .50s.

I only see a Mohawk IV in US Army livery. What gives?
Curtiss P-36's was sold to France, then some transferred to Britain. Britain gave it the name "Mohawk." That name was not used in U.S. Service.

The model you have made has the cowling associated with the Curtiss-Weight R-1820.
US Army Air Forces P-36A and C were powered by Pratt & Whitney R-1830s with a more closely fitting cowling with prominent blast tubes for the nose guns.
