I agree. Therefore I don't trust so-called colour images taken during the WW2 here in the Europe , especially, at the beginning and the mid period.

Photo in the link below shows that propellers were damaged on landing on the beach.
Later photos show her in Luftwaffe markings T9+XB without propellers at a September 1943 Captured Air show. A new pair of propellers were still to be acquired from other downed Mosquitoes.
Aircraft definitely shows a camouflaged uper surface and red and blue fuselage roundels before being repainted in Luftwaffe colours.


Of interest, somewhere I remember seeing an aerial reconacance photo of a German airfield that shows the Mosquito and Beaufighter side by side by a hanger and a B17 on the grass some distance away from the hanger.
