The finished cockpit. the gun sight didn't sag, its supposed to be tilted like that.


Glued into the right fuselage half along with a whole lot of lead nose weight



Fuselage glued together. Took a lot of clamps to make every thing work,but it looks like I'll get away with minimum filler on this joint.

The wings are now on and all blended in. The second picture shows the most difficult area taking some plastic card, a lot of thick CA and a couple of hours of filing and sanding.

More progress. The fuel tank, bomb and gun pilons put on along with the tail. All the seems have been smoother over and the entire airframe sanded down to 1000 grit paper. Have to decide now weather to go ahead with painting or tackle the vacuformed canopy first.

 
Looking good. In my hunt for sand paper the finest I could find was 800 grit in the 4x9 sheets. Seeing you mention 1000, I did a quick Google and found I've been looking in the wrong department all this time.....off to the automotive department at Canadian Tire the next time I hit PG. Yea George, I got some 1200 around here somewhere and I know I've seen it in 1500 but I think 1000 is enough for a NMF if you use a soft cotton cloth to polish it after. For clear parts though I've got some polishing pads that go up to - if i remember correctly - 12,000 grit, bit lately I've just been using my wife's finger nail polishing sticks for canopys
