Thanks chaps.
Got the painting done, but still need to add a couple of small decals, and then matt coat a couple of areas, plus a little re-touching, then install the seat.
Should have that done soon, then move on to fitting the SIWAS and belly tank, before attacking the landing gear etc.
Apologies for the poor pics - should have used the DSLR.
Back probably over the weekend.





 
Good stuff Terry. I've been lazy and have been using my cell phone for pictures. Very convenient and usually sufficient but the depth of field with the DSLR is definitely superior. I actually think your pics look pretty good.

Pics could be better, if I was able to hold the small digital camera properly, and with better lighting angles. I find the shutter button a bit stiff to press smoothly with my knackered hands, resulting in a little camera shake.

Ah, the old cable release !
I still have one somewhere, left over from my 120 and 35mm film days. However, the little digital compact camera has a smooth-topped shutter button (no threaded slot for a cable release), so won't work on that. The camera does have a timer, at 2 seconds and 10 seconds, but of course that would mean setting up either my tripod or mini-tripod.
Most of the time I'm OK, and can use the compact for general, quick shots, but now and then the stiff fingers prevent a smooth button operation.
When that happens, I should really get off my ar*e and use one of my DSLRs, which have an easy shutter release button, and image stabilisation.
 
Yes, I have one I use with one of my DSLRs when shooting on the tripod, and also have the shoulder stock with electronic release pistol grip for the big lens on the other DSLR.
However, the little Fuji compact digital compact does not have provision for such a remote release. As mentioned, for general shots the little Fuji is fine, but I should really use one of the DSLRs for closer, detail shots - either that, or get some new hands !!

Back to swelling, stiffness and extreme pain in the left wrist, so didn't want to risk doing any detail scratch-building or handle tiny decals.
Instead, I've started on the canopy internal parts, assembling the lift mechanism and internal, rear, canopy frame. This will have some extra, scratch-built detail added, as will the insides of the canopy itself, before attaching it to the canopy. Going to be a bit fiddly fitting it, with the seat in place, but the seat won't go in if the canopy is fitted first !
Given that the swelling and pain subside, i hope to get some more done tomorrow.


 
Masked the inside of the canopy, fitted the rear internal frame / lift mechanism, and started to add a little internal detail, including the ventilation trunking and overhead lights, both of which have yet to be completed ( need the first stage to fully set before proceeding ).


 
Nice Terry. I remember getting hung up with that complex canopy hinge as both kits that I used for bashing didn't include any convincing details for it. One of the reasons I gave up on the build.
