my second subject will be an A6M5c flown by Takeo Tanimizu

the kit pics from here Tamiya 61027 Mitsubishi A6M5C

the kit is moulded in very dark green plastic with finely recessed panel lines and just enough detail to stop me getting bored of it !

Gonna do this bird in 1/32 myself... It is a Nakajima built Zero, there are a couple of shots of Tanimizu standing next to the fuselage with the Kill markings, there is also an after war shot of it on a scrap heap in a hangar I think?

yep seen those pics of Tanimizu next to his kill markings but not the scrap heap shot.

what differences did Nakajima Zeros have ?

Hmm tried to edit that to make it easier to read, looks ok as i edit it but does not change when i save it ?

Seeing as though you will likely start with the cockpit.....To keep it as simple as possible, the cockpit of a late Nakajima A6M5 Zero should be painted Khaki XF-49 as a simple average..... maybe with a drop of white.
The upper decking should be Black.

Be aware the image Geo posted is a (rebuilt) Mitsubishi built A6M3 the inside surfaces of the main Landing gear covers should be the same as the lower surface colour for Mitsubishi and Nakajima built A6M.
Nakajima built only the A6M2 and A6M5 Zero.
The Blue-Green Aotake would be in the wheel wells and inner surface of the smaller inboard gear cover door for your Nakajima subject.
