First this is the bulbs for the APR-25 system.
Hasegawa's F-4C/D has the bulbs on the IR sensor already. I does not have them on the drag chute housing though. Using the Hasegawa as a judge for size I used some plastic dowel . I cut it long so at to get it mounted and I'll try and trim and shape it accordingly.
Arrows are where the APR-25 bulbs go two on the nose IR and two on the drag chute housing.
About right!
Ok I've been working on the diamond antenna for rhe Er-142 on the nose. Card stock cut and trimmed. Note the toothpick at the top of the photo. I'll file and shape the glued on the nose.
After filling the ER-142 diamond antennas to shape, I've masks off the nose and tail and shot it with Tamiya white primer. Though it comes in a rattle can and not airbrushed I am liking it quite a bit. I have not mated wings/lower fuselage together yet. I plan on shooting the intakes first.
Had some issues with the intakes. Always do have with this kit. On of it's downfalls. Cut thin card stock and sized it for a slop and glued it in ans sand and file
Update, Gear and gear doors are on and I put the canopies down. Fit is not the best but it will have to do, I tried to steal a closed canopy one piece from another kit but would not fit. Painted the outer rails black then camo by hand brush. the Monogram back canopy leaves a gapping hole so I had to cut out a small piece of card stock and then use some Mr. surfacer 500 for the rest of the fill.
