Thanks for all the good commits' and checking it all out. I started working the aft section which is all metal. Steel to be exact, I had to do some seam work and then sand smooth and needed to in part use Mr. Surfacer 500 to cover up some of the seam but it all worked.

Vallejo gloss black primer over all and the set of plates running up the middle I shot in Alclad stainless steel.

I also shot the center of the stabilators in the same. The stabilators were molded with an alignment setting for the reinforcement arrow but you were supposed to trim that off. After trimming it off there was quite a bit of fine sanding and clean up as well, I had to do it a couple times to get it right but it's looking good now.

I pulled out several sets of Hasegawa Weapons set A and started the bomb truck load.

Using Alclad stainless steel (lighter) and steel (darker) I shot the metallic sections. At first I shot the bottom in stainless but I had to go back and redo that in steel and the side in stainless. Also the stabilators pivots are in steel. Exhaust cans are also in steel.

Getting close to a gloss coat but trying not to jump to far out. Getting gear on and painting doors etc.. Needed a way to paint up the weapons cache and found alligator clips and cotton swab stims worked the biz. The Tamiya turntable did the rest... Shot them all in Mr. surface 1500 black. I'll shoot all the noses in yellow and then mask off that with Tamiya vinyl tape and shoot the green. Plan is to have fuse extenders on the wing and regular Mk84's on the centerline. I went with the Academy centerline rack it required the lest amount of modifications and looked the part the best.

Mary Mary quite contrary how does you garden of bombs grew?

Thanks all for checking in and the kind words. Latest update, I'm still working on the load outs. I talked to a friend who flow F-4D and E's during 72/73 out of SEA including Linebacker as to what load outs looked like. I'm going to use the fuse extenders though he said he did not see them use very often. This is a 68/69 bird and you will note that is was around 69/70 that the formation (slime) lights were applied. This bird does not have them.
He called for a single ALQ-87 ECM pod and three AIM-7E Sparrow Missiles.

The Sparrows are 9 parts each with four fins forward and four aft and the missile body.

and we test fit the missiles and the ECM pod adaptor.

Next I started with the Eduard Brassin ALQ-87 (V2). Now I'm going to go too far in-depth with this but I just want everyone to see how cool this product is. This kit makes up to two pods. There are a lot of spares incase something flies away (and one did).

God did not give Job enough patience to do this. I broke down and bought a new set of thin nosed nippers, I feel in love on first bite.

Cool. A bit fiddly but I've had a modicum of success cutting and adding parts using a clear plastic bag, especially when removing small P.E. parts
