Ok, two up two down!

Kits world also has a set but just for the seats. I'm a little disappointed as there is no diagram to go by with their offering, but it is a complet set with spares.

In other news I received an order of AK paints today.

Guess that one was botched! But hey, now I'm as high as a kite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing I noticed when I opened one bottle of AK was the strong smell. That box must have been TOXIC!

Yes it was. And by the time I recovered the nine bottles that weren't broken having to use liquor thinner, yeah, I needed an industrial air ventilation system. I'm hoping I can go in there today.

Ok so working a bit OOO, started putting together quickie items.
Fuel tanks

and working the engine intakes seams.

I saw this on one of the YouTube video's, I think it was from Will Paterson but not sure, anyhow he thinned some Mr. surfacer and I'm not sure what he started with but I have 500 1000 and Tamiya surface primer.

Turns out Mr Primer Surfacer 1000 was the correct viscosity to run smoothly down the seams.

Well as far as the diabolical from my paint order I was able to clean up to some extent and salvage 12 out of 15.

and so my AK collection grows a bit.

Not going much further till I get a feel for them and if I'm going to deal with the fumes.

Seats look great Don. Bummer about the paint. One thing I've noticed about buying Tamiya paint from the LHS, the lids are always about a ½ to ¾ of a turn loose. I've never held them upside down to see if they would leak but I always fully tighten them before I leave the store....odd

This was not loose lids, three bottles broke in the shipment.

I shot the intakes (front) with insignia white (AK) and the engine exhaust with burnt iron followed by jet exhaust (Vallejo Metal Colors) and the intakes with the same steel. I hade primed every thin in flat black last night. I shot the intakes but not the back as I was looking for that darkening effect. I'll need to work on the engine inlets as the steel is way to dark. I may go to Model Master Metalizers stainless steel.
