Got the pit in the fuselage and closed it all up.. Always have a problem with the lower hull of the fuselage on this kit. I can never quite get the section in arrows to seal correctly.
I had to sand and file and contour and then Mr. Sufacer 500 to fill the slight gap. Mr. Sufacer 1500 to prime and the3n go back over with a 1000 grit sanding board.
Then I had to work the contours of the upper aft fuselage, Could be me but a lot of sanding and filing going on!!
Then Engine and painting gear doors and wells etc...
I've done or started some five of these kits, Tamiya P-47 D, both the Razorback and the bubble top, and they all seem to have that issue. I'm pleased with this though...
Starting to paint invasion stripes on the wings. Laying down the over all white. Plane on flaps down but I taped them in the up position to paint as the section in the flap well should be NMF.
White is not my favorite colour to apply I always find it hard to get an even cover but you have done well and with the black stripes, I recon it will look good.
Cleaning things up a bit. Red nose and black and white invasion stripes. I colored out of the like a bit but not sure if I should worry about it. They were just slopping paint on after all.
