Thanks guys. Wayne, when I was looking at your reply using my phone I read that as "12 coats"....yikes. Anyhoo....never did show the bottom with the decals.

That was one of the reasons I took these photos. The others were to show 1), the flat finish of the other bottle I bought, Vallejo Polyurethane Ultra Matte Varnish, two coats. So now I have two options for flat. Both companies also make satin and gloss finishes as well 2nd) Dry brushing Tamiya XF-17 Sea Blue on the treads to show wear. I think I like this better than greys, just me. C) The seams down the centre of the Hellcats are supposed to be there. I almost filled them in before I did a bit of research.
