This is what the final piece assembly looks like. Note that the top of the piece (red) fits flush with the retraction arm and the bottom (yellow) fits 90° into the landing gear but no provision to do this so I just glued it to the strut

Tomorrow I'll glue them to the wheel well and prep for paint

That's one of those 'at least I know its there' parts. Sheesh!!

Almost ready for paint; waiting for the clear parts to dry after being dipped in Future. Cowl press fit on to protect engine from over-spray. Rudder left off as it will be sprayed white so this will save masking. In the process of removing the wheel spoke rims from the casting; almost half an hour for one. Ball game on now

Thanks guys. Spritz....spritz....and respritz. Sprayed the whole thing Tamiya XF-17 Sea Blue. A bit apprehensive about this as I have read that the formula was changed and now had a greenish tint so I got a new bottle a few weeks ago. I compared it to a used bottle I already had and while it didn't look greenish, the new bottle was definitely a tad darker. Biting the bullet I sprayed the new bottle; no greenish tinge but a very slight purple, not blurple tinge. The respritz....I went down after some good drying time to take pictures and noticed that the spine wasn't sufficiently covered. I decide to try some paint weathering for the first time so I loaded up the AB with some of the lighter XF-17 and added a paint brush full of XF-19 Sky Grey and shot the spine, leading edges and panel lines. Not perfect but I like the effect. I also shot the clear parts with my mix of Interior Green, the white rudder and the blue on the propeller and wheel rims
