Sorry gents but I just noticed that the last bunch of pics I posted were way over-sized. I got myself a new laptop and had to reload Irfanview on it and program my batch routine for converting my cell-phone pics to the files that I store and post. In doing so, I forgot to select the size reduction option but have fixed that now so the below stuff should be back to the usual format.

So here's the work from yesterday. I completed the harnesses by adding the straps on the bottom corners of the pad and threw together something to represent the chain at the front center of the seat.

Next, I painted the gun sight and compass and added those.

Then I glued on the windscreen which fit very well. Unfortunately, the sprue attachment had wiggled loose in the box and crazed the clear part as can be seen below.

I've been brushing some Future on this defect and it seems to have improved things somewhat but I'll wait for the verdict until after I mask and paint the frames.

While preparing for paint, I almost forgot to deal with the nav lights on the wingtips which are just moulded in:

I'll be replacing these with scratch-made clear lenses and so I began by sawing out the notch.

At this point I ran out of steam so I'll deal with the lenses another time. In the meantime, thanks once again for popping in and for the kind comments.

A few pics of my pathetic little bit of progress.

Starting from where we left off on the nav lights 10 days ago, pieces of clear sprue were cut and tiny slots were cut in the corners and filled with red and green paint. The excess paint was then filed away, leaving a tiny bit in the slots to represent the bulbs. The large pieces were then CA-glued into the notches created earlier. Here's the port side:

Next came the filling, sanding, and polishing the lens to shape. This is the starboard side taking shape:

Back to the port side, the final result after polishing, Future application, and rescribing:

Back at the cockpit, the hinged canopy has now been welded shut and a very nice fit it is.

I'm now getting close to painting the underside but, frankly, am a bit flustered by what colour I should use for the Griggio Azzuro Chiaro given that there seems to be differing interpretations of it. Not sure I'll be any clearer on that before I start but we'll see I guess.
