Well today's pilgrims progress. Cockpit installed and fuselage halves mated, engine installed and cowling on. Wings and tail planes installed. Now it's time to call it a day. It's a day!
A couple weeks back I was looking for a display base for Marston Mat, )AKA PSP), I found Mini art had brought out one and decided to look into it (buy it).
It comes in two formats. One with two sheets (bases) and one with one and some 55 gal drums in it.
I pulled one out and it comes in a grey plastic.
I started by shooting a Vallejo Metal Colors Steel base and than used some Vallejo Rust colors to "age" it I guess.
after which I used a Mr Color sand to accentuate the planking.
to get this....
As a SW Pac PSP runway/parking area.
Question; paper drop tanks, were they used in the southwest pacific ie New Guinea, Dobodura, Nazdab etc…. The ranges were long and when the P-38's were pulled from the 475th they got the 47D's.
