This Early Model 11 J1N1 Night fighter Gekko Profile is referenced as flown by Lieutenant Yukio Endo and Observer, CPO Osami Nishio based at Atsugi air base during the period of November to January 1945.
Upon their deaths in action on 14th January 1945 the crew was credited with 8 Confirmed victories and a further 8 probable victories.
The Yellow Chrysanthemum markings on the fuselage indicating 5 Victories and 9 probables, is in reference to a photographed painted fuselage panel either taken possibly from his aircraft or recreated for the occasion of the crews funeral.
There are no known, to me, photo's of this actual aircraft.

The Victory markings have been created for me by Bill N4521U and soon printed out for this project…
A Big Thanks Bill.

And you can't beat Tamiya's fit. Even for an older production kit, the fit looks really nice on those engine nacelles.
