**** DONE: GB-68 1/48 Fw-190D-9 - We all build Fw 190

Thanks everyone, appreciate it and hope everyone had a great Christmas

With the holiday break I've been able to get most of the paint down and mild chipping, up next is a gloss clear and the decals, then more weathering
I've enjoyed painting this one, with the exception of trying to get the tail bands and bar at the right angles.
I did end up doing that section twice as the angles were off, I think the second time is much better. The port side bar angle is off slightly, but overall I'm happy enough with it to not try for a 3rd time. Also the W.Nr is a little longer than it should, as I dont think I could have cut the mask smaller

Question for the group though - bottom of the fuselage, just behind the wing section there are 3 small circles (in front of what I believe is an access hatch) - are these identification / formation lights? I searched but couldn't find anything, I dont think they are but hoping to confirm.

But liking it enough that I ordered a Eduard D-9 Weekend for the stash

Getting closer...
I tried the AK Clear Smoke for the exhaust staining for the first time, it's actually quite glossy which I wasn't expecting
I think I was able to balance out with weathering and carbon black pigments

For exhaust stains, I just thin Tamiya XF-2 Black A LOT and build up the stains with multiple passes. I've also started with a bit of brown for the edges and then switched to black for the center of the stain.

had a lot of fun researching the Dora and doing the GB, so much that I've picked up 2 more Dora's in the stash and lining up for the upcoming maritime one
